BOYS’ BRIGADE AND GIRLS’ ASSOCIATION
10th South Shields
Our BBGA is thriving! Every Friday evening, over 60 young people from the local community gather in Living Waters Church to play games, have fun, learn life skills, make connections and learn about Jesus. The young people are given an opportunity to learn an instrument and join our marching band, which travels all over as we are often invited to play in local festivals.
Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association is a uniformed organisation. We pride ourselves on setting high standards and the young people are always extremely smart! They enjoy working towards earning badges and awards. In addition, they experience charity work to raise money for local good causes and are given excellent opportunities to attend residential camps and day trips where they can build resilience when rock climbing, gardening, rafting or body boarding. The BBGA also has links with many local community groups.
The faith element of BBGA is strong. For some of our children, this is the only place they will experience who Jesus is. We partner with ‘Youth for Christ’ and take our older Company Section to North East events.
Friday evenings:
6pm – 8pm Anchors Section (Reception- Year 3)
6pm – 9pm Junior Section (Year 4 – Year 6)
6pm – 9pm Company Section (Year 7 – Year 10)
Our amazing leaders are all part of LWC and several of them have even grown up in our BBGA! They are all fully trained through Boys’ Brigade, have DBS checks and follow our Safeguarding Policy. Many of our church youth are part of BBGA and several parents help out … we think this is because they don’t want to miss all the fun!
You can contact or follow our Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association through their Facebook page. Alternatively, you can contact LWC directly.
